RETRIEVAL LEARNING AND SPACED PRACTICE

Our learning modules consist of practice tests accompanied with supportive feedback following test completion. The use of low stakes testing over time and the provision of feedback has consistently demonstrated improved student learning performance.

BUILDING BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE

Building background knowledge is important to student success. Our practice tests apply principles of learning science. Each practice begins with Pre-Think statements to prepare the learner metacognitively (awarenesses of one's knowledge and understanding).

PRACTICE PLUS FEEDBACK AND ELABORATION

Each practice test uses various types of questions including ‘production questions’ which require the student to produce the answer from memory and ‘recognition questions’ such as multiple choice. Feedback is provided for every question. Our feedback often includes reflective questions for learners to contemplate, thus stimulating metacognition.
